Zoe Ball Reportedly Lands New Job at Rival Radio Station After Leaving the BBC
The 55-year-old broadcaster is said to be returning to radio after missing out on the Strictly Come Dancing hosting job.
Broadcaster Zoe Ball will join Greatest Hits Radio this autumn, marking her return to the airwaves after stepping away from the flagship BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show at the end of 2025.
After being overlooked for the Strictly Come Dancing hosting job, Ball pursued the new role. She had been strongly linked to the position following the departure of long-time presenter Claudia Winkleman.
On her Dig It podcast with Whiley, Ball joked she was "working through the seven stages of grief and rejection" following the decision. She added she was "chuffed to even be in the mix."
Following Ken Bruce and Simon Mayo, Ball joins other high-profile stars who left the BBC for Greatest Hits. "She knows so many people at the commercial station and can't wait to get started," a source told The Sun.
Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe were confirmed as the new Strictly Come Dancing hosts in May. Ball expressed support for the team, saying, "I'm so thrilled for the gang that has got it.
