Strictly Come Dancing: Zoe Ball Confirms She Will Not Be Show's New Presenter
Zoe Ball said she was not chosen after auditioning for the BBC role and described the rejection as a seven-stage grieving process.
On Tuesday, broadcaster Zoe Ball confirmed she failed to land the role of Strictly Come Dancing host after participating in the BBC's rigorous audition process earlier this month.
Following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman last year, the BBC began searching for successors to the coveted presenting roles on the long-running dance competition.
Emma Willis, who recently took over Ball's weekend show on BBC Radio 2, is reportedly the new host after 'absolutely nailing the chemistry tests,' according to industry insiders.
On her Dig It podcast, Ball admitted she experienced the 'seven stages of grief' following the rejection but insisted the new hosts are in 'safe hands.'
Plans for Strictly Come Dancing 2026, including new professional dancers and the celebrity cast, will be confirmed by the BBC in due course as the show returns later this year.
