ZIMBABWE, JUL 18 – Zimbabwe ended a 34-year Rugby World Cup absence by winning the Rugby Africa Cup final 30-28 over Namibia, securing automatic qualification for the 2027 tournament in Australia.
- Zimbabwe secured a spot in the 2027 Rugby World Cup by narrowly overcoming Namibia with a 30-28 victory in the final match of the Rugby Africa Cup held on Saturday.
- Zimbabwe's victory ended a 36-year absence from the tournament, with their last appearance in 1991, as Namibia narrowly missed out on direct qualification.
- With 20 minutes remaining, Zimbabwe held a 30-16 advantage before Namibia responded with two tries and narrowly missed a last-minute penalty from halfway to reduce the deficit.
