Zelenskyy’s plane 'almost hit' by drone on Tuesday, Norway PM says
Moldovan officials said two Russian drones triggered airspace closures and delayed three departures, including Zelenskyy’s flight to Norway.
On Tuesday, a drone nearly hit the aircraft carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as it departed from Moldova, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store told public broadcaster NRK on Wednesday.
Zelenskyy traveled to Oslo to attend the funeral of King Harald, arriving on Tuesday evening for a visit focused on military assistance and critical air defense support for Ukraine.
Store emphasized the constant danger surrounding the Ukrainian delegation, noting Zelenskyy spent his night receiving updates on missile strikes across Ukraine, which Store called "a very dramatic situation."
During his Oslo visit, Zelenskyy met with Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg and Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide to discuss military aid and the Freyja initiative for developing European air defense.
Following the funeral for King Harald on Wednesday, where Zelenskyy marched alongside other heads of state, he departed Norway to conduct further diplomatic talks with leaders in Canada.
