Zelenskyy receives international prize honoring his and Ukraine’s courage and resilience
- On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received the International Four Freedoms Award in Middelburg, Netherlands, honoring his nation's resilience against Russia's full-scale invasion launched more than four years ago.
- The Roosevelt Foundation created the award in 1982 to honor values outlined by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt in his 1941 State of the Union address: freedom of speech, worship, want, and fear.
- Other recipients included Pelicot, honored for Freedom from Fear; the Committee to Protect Journalists for Freedom of Speech; and Isidora Uribe Silva from Chile for Freedom from Want.
- Accepting for all Ukrainians, President Zelenskyy requested a moment of silence for victims of an overnight Russian barrage that killed at least 16 people, calling for war crimes accountability.
