On Monday, May 18, 2026, Andriy Yermak, former head of President Volodymyr Zelensky's Office, was released from custody after posting Hr 140 million bail, following four days in pre-trial detention.
Investigators allege Yermak laundered more than Hr 460 million between 2021 and 2025 through construction of an elite residential compound in Kozyn, a wealthy enclave south of Kyiv.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau claims the scheme involved 10-15% kickbacks from Energoatom contractors; six individuals were charged alongside Yermak, including Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov and Timur Mindich, Zelensky's former business partner.
Yermak denies the charges as "unfounded," stating he relied on friends including Serhii Rebrov, the former Ukraine national football team coach, to source bail funds while wearing an electronic bracelet and surrendering foreign passports.
Despite his release, Yermak remains under legal restrictions and has vowed to appeal the court's ruling while authorities monitor his compliance with bail conditions.
