Germany News: Snow Warnings for Hamburg, 'Elli' Storm Nears
Storm Elli brings 3 to 15 cm of snow and risks of freezing rain, causing school closures and transport disruptions in Hamburg, affecting roughly 273,000 schoolchildren.
- On January 8 the DWD issued a red warning for Hamburg, warning of disruptive snow and ice overnight with snow expected to start in earnest by the evening.

Zalando reorganises its logistics network after the takeover of the rival About You and closes its distribution center in Erfurt. The site will be abandoned by the end of September 2026. Around 2700 employees are affected.
Last year Zalando took over the smaller rival About You. Also, in order to save costs, for example, in logistics. The own network is to be reorganized, at the expense of an entire location.
One site will close and several subcontractors have had their contract renewed.
The fashion retailer closes its logistics site in Erfurt, which opened in 2012 at the end of September. The reason for this is a conversion after the takeover of the competitor About You last year.
