Yogi Cabinet Expansion: From Bhupendra Chaudhary to Ajit Pal — Meet 6 New Ministers Inducted Into UP Govt
The reshuffle adds six new ministers and two promotions, with the Governor’s office clearing the list and no further changes expected.
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expanded the Uttar Pradesh cabinet, with eight ministers taking the oath of office at the Gandhi Auditorium in Lucknow.
Yogi met Governor Anandiben Patel on Saturday evening to finalize the reshuffle, which includes six new ministers and promotions for two existing officials.
Bhupendra Chaudhary and Manoj Pandey were sworn in as cabinet ministers, while Kailash Rajput, Surendra Diler, Krishna Paswan, and Hansraj Vishwakarma became ministers of state.
Somendra Tomar and Ajit Pal were elevated to ministers with independent charge; Hansraj Vishwakarma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi, calling them "the world's most popular leaders."
Prior to this expansion, the cabinet comprised 54 members, including the Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers, across 21 Cabinet Ministers, 14 Ministers with Independent Charge, and 19 Ministers of State.
