Yemen's Houthis say they attacked Aramco facility in Riyadh with missiles, drones
The group said the strike used ballistic missiles and drones as fighting with Saudi Arabia intensified after a ceasefire collapsed.
On Saturday, the Iran-aligned Houthis claimed they targeted an Aramco facility in Riyadh with a "military operation with ballistic missiles and drones," causing visible fires at the site.
Fighting has intensified since a fragile truce collapsed in July, with the Houthis recently launching attacks on Saudi oil facilities including a power station in Medina earlier this week.
The Saudi-led coalition reported carrying out 97 "precise targeting operations," with Colonel Majed Abdullah al-Nazili, spokesman for Yemen's internationally recognised government forces, saying the attacks killed "at least 260 Houthi fighters and destroyed or disabled 44 military vehicles."
Neither Saudi officials nor Aramco have confirmed the reported refinery fire, while Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree reported that Saudi Arabia launched 94 airstrikes across Yemen in the past 24 hours.
The conflict has persisted since the Houthis seized Sanaa in 2014, forcing the Yemeni government to retreat to Aden, while the group recently seized strategic positions in the Bab al-Mandeb strait.
