Yelp Introduces an AI Chatbot to Help Users Sift Local Recommendations
The upgrade adds third-party booking and delivery tools, with Yelp saying the assistant can answer questions and act on them in one conversation.
- Yelp upgraded its AI Assistant to function as a digital concierge, allowing users to ask natural language questions and complete actions like booking appointments or ordering food directly within the app.

- The updated assistant integrates with third-party providers including DoorDash, Grubhub, Vagaro, ZocDoc, and Repairpal, enabling users to finalize transactions like ordering takeout or scheduling services.
- SVP Akhil Kuduvalli Ramesh noted that actions redirect to providers' apps or pages, meaning the system is not "agentic" in nature for completing transactions within the chat.
