Justice Minister Yariv Levin today (Tuesday) turned to the High Court of Justice after failing to find an agreed-upon supervisor for the investigation into the MPA affair, and asked to "reexamine" the appointment of Judge Kola to the position. In a letter sent by the Minister of Justice to the High Court, he claims that he has not yet found a suitable candidate from his point of view and one who meets the criteria set by the court. The Minister asked to reconsider the assignment of the role to Judge Kola, who last month made it clear that he would not remove himself from his position as the Commissioner for Complaints Against Judges.
The minister requests to once again examine the assignment of the role to the Ombudsman for Judges, whose voice, in a thoughtful manner, took a leave of absence from his position as Commissioner for a predetermined period during which he will accompany the investigation. The "Hayom" editor learned that Shkola heard about the proposal from the media.
Levin appealed to the court and asked to re-examine Kola's candidacy, saying that during the investigations, Kola would take a leave of absence from his position as the Judicial Complaints Commissioner.
