XREAL Aura with Android XR start at $1,279
The Android XR glasses include a tethered compute puck, Google Play and Gemini support, and a second $1,499 configuration.
- On Wednesday, Xreal opened preorders for its Android XR-powered Aura smartglasses, starting at $1,279 for reservation holders. The device integrates Gemini AI and Bose-engineered audio.
- Unlike bulky headsets, Aura uses a tethered compute puck running the Snapdragon Reality Elite platform, keeping the frame under 95 grams. This design supports the full Android XR ecosystem.
- The base model includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $1,279, while the upgraded 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version costs $1,499. A 70-degree field of view comes standard.
- Initial units ship before the holidays to the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, with general public orders opening in the coming weeks. Xreal competes directly with Meta's VR glasses.
- Only the first 2,000 "Founder's Edition" pairs are available at launch, with broader expansion planned for 2027. Xreal CEO Chi Xu confirmed early delivery before year-end.
