Xiaomi Confirms Sky Nomad Name for the New Automotive Brand
Xiaomi said the Sky Nomad lineup will launch its first EREV SUV, the N90, as the company expands beyond its existing models.
- On Wednesday, Xiaomi officially confirmed that its extended-range electric vehicle lineup will debut under the new 'Sky Nomad' brand, though the company has not clarified whether it represents a standalone sub-brand or product series.
- Xiaomi Auto secured regulatory approval in June to build extended-range vehicles at its Beijing plant, positioning the company to expand beyond its current driver-focused electric lineup into the comfort-oriented SUV market.
- The N90 is a full-size SUV measuring 5.3 meters long with a 3.1-meter wheelbase, powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged generator paired with a 70+ kWh battery delivering over 1,500 km of combined range.
- Expected to launch in the second half of 2026, the N90 aims to undercut rivals Li Auto and Aito with pricing starting as low as $29,400, undercutting both competitors' models that sit above 250,000 yuan.
- Despite registering 'SkyNomad' trademarks since August 2025 and launching accounts on WeChat and Bilibili, Xiaomi has not yet clarified whether the name represents a standalone brand or simply a new product series within its existing portfolio.
