Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday called on BRICS member states to oppose sovereignty violations and reject protectionism, speaking at a summit in New Delhi, Beijing state media reported. Xi told the 11-member grouping that BRICS must “oppose violations of other countries’ sovereignty and interference in their internal affairs, (and) constructively participate in resolving critical issues,” according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.
