Xero and Anthropic Collaborate to Bring AI-Powered Financial Intelligence to Millions of Small Businesses

On Wednesday, Xero announced a multi-year partnership with Anthropic to embed Claude AI directly into its platform while integrating Xero's financial data into Claude.ai.
Xero Chief Product and Technology Officer Diya Jolly framed the integration as shifting to 'agentic workflows,' enabling JAX to automate financial tasks like cash flow prediction and invoice tracking.
Financial data shared between platforms will be used solely for the user's specific session and never for training Claude's models, Xero stated, addressing privacy concerns for sensitive business information.
Customers can expect Claude-powered features in the coming months, enabling them to orchestrate financial tasks and conduct business planning without switching between tools or manually compiling reports.
Treating AI providers like cloud vendors, Xero maintains a multi-model strategy to avoid lock-in, while the deal expands Anthropic's enterprise push beyond its $100 million Claude Partner Network commitment.
