- Her Apple Music profile frames Monet as a contemporary R&B vocalist with a soulful, human-like delivery; she released Unfolded in August with 24 songs and a seven-track EP in September, charting on Hot Gospel Songs and Hot R&B Songs.
- With industry unease growing, Romel Murphy, Monet's manager, defended the project, saying `they both have music catalogues that are expanding decades to this day. Youth are still listening to those songs and they're no longer with us and they're connected to their music,` Murphy said.
