- WWE announced on X that Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena will be in a contract-signing segment with Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown, scheduled for July 18, 2025, at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
- Having won the King of the Ring tournament led to Cody Rhodes earning his SummerSlam title shot as WWE announced Cena's defense against Rhodes at SummerSlam on August 2 and August 3, 2025, in a rematch of WrestleMania 41.
