Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Sequel Officially Announced with Original Creator’s New Studio Developing It
Xia Siyuan’s new Chengdu studio has signed a development and publishing deal, and the original game drew more than 5 million players in its first year.
- On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, 505 Games announced a partnership with original creator Xia Siyuan and his new studio, Chengdu Indolphinity, to develop a sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers with a €21.5 million initial investment.
- While the original game reached more than 5 million players after its July 24, 2025 release, Leenzee shuttered earlier this year after Xia departed and the studio dissolved following a dispute over outsourcing work.
- Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, acquired the Wuchang intellectual property in April 2026; the sequel is currently in its preparation phase with no official title or release date announced.
- Fans criticized the Patch 1.5 update for altering bosses and NPCs, with the first game facing significant backlash regarding the handling of Ming and Qing Dynasty history and the plot's narrative tone.
- Xia stated the team takes "player and community feedback seriously while remaining committed to our original vision," striving to deliver "higher quality and a more complete experience" in response to fans.
