James Bond 26 Will Be "Better, Stronger and Bolder", Says Peaky Blinders Creator
AUG 1 – Steven Knight, known for Peaky Blinders, will script Denis Villeneuve’s Bond film after Amazon MGM Studios acquired the rights, with the movie set for a 2028 release.
- On Thursday, Amazon MGM Studios confirmed that Steven Knight, 65, will write the script for Denis Villeneuve’s 007 film.
- After rights were handed over this year, Amazon assembled a new team as producer Amy Pascal invited Steven Knight to a meeting without revealing its purpose.
- Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast on Friday, Knight said `it’s fantastic to be invited to do it`, and he hopes to make a film that’s `stronger and bolder` than previous 007 films.
- Knight’s hiring marks the fourth addition to Amazon’s new Bond film, with speculation names Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland and Harris Dickinson in the running.
- With a 2028 release window, the film will be the first Bond since No Time to Die and the first under Amazon
control.
