In Serbia's capital, the genocide of Srebrenica was to be commemorated on 11 July 1995. Then one of the organizers was beaten up and the event cancelled.
More than 20 people attacked and beat writer Vladimir Arsenijević in Belgrade while he was preparing for a memorial ceremony to commemorate the Srebrenica genocide. The memorial ceremony was canceled due to the incident.
The writer Vladimir Arsenijević was attacked early this morning under the Branko bridge in Belgrade, right before the beginning of the planned commemoration of the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, which was later canceled for security reasons.
