WPS: More than $340,000 in opium seized during Weyburn drug bust

Police said the seizure stopped drugs from reaching three provinces and had an estimated street value of $340,000.

WEYBURN — The Weyburn Police Service (WPS) has released more information regarding an opium bust earlier in July. According to the WPS, as the investigation has continued, the WPS has now seized 13 kilograms of opium (doda) with an estimated street value of $340,000. “This significant seizure prevented a substantial quantity of illegal drugs from reaching communities in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Ontario,” the WPS said.
