On the occasion of World Heart Day, the Abidjan Heart Institute organizes free screenings and celebrates the 50th anniversary of its creation. Côte d'Ivoire is particularly affected by cardiovascular diseases. Among the main risk factors: high blood pressure, which would affect more than 35% of the adult population. A high figure, especially as a large part of the people concerned do not know that they are high blood pressure.
The Institute of Cardiology of Abidjan (ICA) officially launched, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the celebrations marking its fiftieth anniversary, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health, Public Health and Universal Sickness Coverage, Pierre Dimba. The ceremony was held on the occasion of World Heart Day.
