Around 60 tractors blocked the A63 motorway at around 2am, in line with the protests being carried out by farmers in Europe. The European Union was due to vote on whether to sign an agreement with Mercosur this Friday, and after 26 years, the European Council has approved the EU-Mercosur agreement. Farmers have said that the agreement will lead to “unfair competition” and will be a “disaster” for them.
