PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team defeated the Army Black Knights (0-1-0), 1-0, in both team's season opener on Aug. 14 in Providence, R.I. The Friars open the season with a 1-0-0 overall record. Redshirt freshman Lily Gibbs (Dedham, Mass.) scored her first career goal for the Friars. Graduate student Ellie Thallman (Northville, Mich.) recorded a clean sheet to help secure the win.
