B.C.’s Gender Pay Gap Decreased

Women in B.C. earned 85 cents for every dollar men made, while pay gaps remained wider for Indigenous, racialized and newcomer women.

  • The gender pay gap in Canada decreased to 14.5 per cent in 2025, according to the Pay Transparency report released Monday by The Finance Ministry.

  • About 700 large employers currently report under the requirement; in fall 2026, The Finance Ministry will expand reporting to all employers with 50 or more workers.
