Bihar Businessman Gopal Khemka Murder Accused Killed in Police Encounter
TSAKANI COMMUNITY, JUL 7 – Babili Nyawuza was raped and murdered hours after meeting a man at her grandmother's funeral, leaving her eight children motherless, police said.
- On July 4 at around 11:40 pm, Gopal Khemka, a businessman from Patna, was fatally attacked by assailants on a motorcycle near the entrance of his home in the Gandhi Maidan area.
- The murder followed previous threats and security requests by Khemka's family, who recalled the 2018 killing of his son Gunjan and expressed fear for their safety.
- Police apprehended the main shooter, Umesh Rai, along with two additional suspects, while a key accused, Vikas alias Raja, who reportedly provided the weapon, died during a police operation near Damaria Ghat on Tuesday.
- Authorities recovered a pistol and cartridge from the crime scene, sent the deceased suspect’s body to Nalanda Medical College for post-mortem, and formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the case.
