Days Lost in a B.C. Forest: Ontario Woman Kayla Boisvert Thanks Her Rescuers
Boisvert said more than $20,000 raised during the search helped cover family travel costs and will support a B.C. rescue group.
- Kayla Boisvert, who went missing from the Shambhala Music Festival, has returned home to Ontario and is offering thanks to those who aided in the search efforts.
- Discovered Thursday near the Nelway border crossing, the 28-year-old was found approximately 13 kilometres from the festival site after going missing on the final night.
- A GoFundMe campaign launched during the search raised more than $20,000, with about 60 per cent of funds covering family travel expenses and the remainder supporting search and rescue.
- After being found, Boisvert was taken into the care of Paramedics and transported to a hospital in Trail, where she described the experience as traumatic.
- While she is "taking it day by day," Boisvert says she will not give up attending music festivals, though she is taking a leave from her job.
