Butte Police: Motorist Takes Off After Striking and Killing a Pedestrian
NIAGARA FALLS, JUL 19 – A 20-year-old driver remained at the scene after striking a pedestrian on Stanley Avenue; police continue investigating and appeal for witnesses to aid the case.
- On Friday, July 19, 2025 at 2:30 a.m., Niagara Regional Police Service discovered a 55-year-old woman struck near Stanley Avenue and Main Street, and she later died at hospital.
- Investigators with the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit said a 2010 dark blue BMW was travelling south on Stanley Avenue when it struck the pedestrian, and the 20-year-old Niagara Falls resident remained at the scene.
- Niagara Regional Police Service said detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating the crash, and they urged anyone with footage to call 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009433, while Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards.
- Niagara Emergency Medical Services transported the injured pedestrian to hospital, and she was later pronounced dead there.
- Members of the public can submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.

A man is in police custody after he allegedly injured another after a fight in events reported on Saturday night hours on Isla Verde Avenue, in the “Aloca-T” business. According to preliminary data, he had altered between them and then the fight, while one of them was leaving from place to foot the police managed to assist him by taking him to a nearby health center, where he is receiving medical treatment.
