Police in Mzuzu have arrested a 27-year-old woman, Madalitso Dinesi, on suspicion of dumping her newborn baby in a toilet. Mzuzu Police spokesperson Augustus Mkhwazi said Dinesi, who works as a domestic worker for a family in Chiputula Township, allegedly committed the act in the early hours of Wednesday.
