Met Police Launch Murder Probe After 19-Year-Old Dies in Finchley Shooting
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and footage as officers increase patrols and no arrests have been made.
The Metropolitan Police launched a murder investigation after a 19-year-old woman died following a shooting at a house in Dale Grove, Finchley, just after midnight on Monday.
Emergency services, including paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, arrived at the scene shortly after midnight but were unable to save the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Local resident Resham Singh, who has lived in the area for 47 years, said, "There's never been any problem at the house before," reflecting shock among neighbors who heard no gunshots.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, said, "Our thoughts are with the young woman's family," who are receiving support from specialist officers; no arrests have been made.
Police are appealing for doorbell or dashcam footage from around midnight in or near Dale Grove, and witnesses can contact police via 101 quoting reference 34/8JUN or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
