Atlanta Dream to Host Finals Games 3 and 4 in Much Larger Arena After Days-Long Drama
State Farm Arena will give the Dream a larger stage and accommodate thousands more fans after schedule conflicts forced the move.
- On Tuesday, the WNBA announced the Atlanta Dream will host WNBA Finals Games 3 and 4 at State Farm Arena, shifting from their 3,500-seat Gateway Center Arena home.
- The league prioritized the move to accommodate fan demand, resolving scheduling conflicts involving a Sombr concert on Oct. 22 and an Atlanta Hawks game on Oct. 24 that initially blocked State Farm Arena.
- "The change of venue dramatically expands the seating capacity," WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said, as State Farm Arena holds around 17,000 fans versus Gateway Center's 3,500.
- To enable the venue change, officials moved Game 3 to Wednesday, Oct. 21, and shifted Game 4 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24; tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
- It remains unclear where a potential Game 6 would be held, as the Atlanta Hawks are scheduled to host the Cleveland Cavaliers at State Farm Arena on Oct. 29.
