Recently issued an extraordinary joint international statement in its nature, tone and singularity, urging all parties and the international community to work together to put an end to this terrible conflict in the Gaza Strip, and to an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire. More bloodshed serves no purpose.

On July 21, a declaration on the issue of Palestine was issued, signed by the foreign ministers of 28 countries, including Iceland, as well as the European Union's Commissioner for Gender Equality, Emergency Response and Services.
