The cabinet preferred to reach a Budget Day budget with the support of the opposition. But there is no deal. In fact, the coalition parties are divided even among themselves. The negotiations are entering extra time.
It does not look like opposition parties will talk to the coalition and cabinet leaders about the budget on Thursday evening. First, an agreement must be reached between the coalition parties D66, CDA, and VVD and the top of the cabinet. According to insiders, D66 and the CDA are at odds with the VVD.

Talks with opposition parties regarding a budget deal have been suspended for the time being. The coalition of D66, VVD, and CDA is currently holding top-level consultations to first reach an agreement among themselves: regarding the substance as well as how the minority cabinet will ultimately secure a majority for its plans.
