Wisconsin DOT Agrees to Release Records, Pays Legal Fees After Media Lawsuit

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation settled after refusing records twice, agreeing to release them and pay $1,300 in legal fees to The Badger Project, which sued for transparency.

The DOT had mistakenly logged the case as "an open investigation," which the department considers grounds for withholding records.
