Williams' 3 Passing TDs and Jones' Kickoff-Return TD Send Tulsa over East Texas A&M 42-0
Dexter Williams II passed for 164 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Trequan Jones added a 98-yard kickoff return as Tulsa earned its first shutout since 2002.
On Saturday, Tulsa defeated East Texas A&M 42-0, with quarterback Dexter Williams throwing 164 yards and three touchdowns, and Trequan Jones returning a kickoff 98-yard for a score.
The Golden Hurricane achieved their first shutout since Oct. 26, 2002, when they secured a 20-0 win over UTEP, marking a significant defensive milestone.
Oran Singleton caught a 27-yard touchdown pass, Donnell Gee added a 24-yard score, Jackson Shockley grabbed a 22-yard touchdown, and Damari Alston and Seth Davis also scored during the offensive onslaught.
Defensively, Tulsa forced two turnovers on downs, while Zane Woodham, Sam Stone, Thomas Davis, and Chris Thompson each recorded a sack, and Carter Langenderfer intercepted a pass.
Next Saturday, Tulsa travels to Arkansas while the Lions face McNeese State; Major McBride rushed for 53 yards in the losing effort for East Texas A&M.
