Nordic combined skiers may have competed in their last Olympics. The International Olympic Committee is considering dropping the sport that mixes ski jumping with cross-country skiing because it draws a small audience and is dominated by only a few nations.
The jumping was not ideal. In the cross-country crime Rettenegger's fall cost the gold chance, Norway won. It is the third ÖOC medal in the third combined competition
Norwegian Nordic combined skiers Andreas Skoglund and Jens Luraas Oftebro won the gold medal in the team event at the Winter Olympics in Italy. After the first half of the event, after jumping on the large hill, they were second. The Finn won silver and the Austrian bronze. Slovenians Vid Vrhovnik and Gašper Brecl finished in tenth place.
