Will Levis, Jack Plummer worked out for Jets on Thursday
The Jets are weighing extra depth behind Geno Smith, with rookie Cade Klubnik the only backup on the 53-man roster.
On Thursday, the New York Jets worked out free-agent quarterbacks Will Levis and Jack Plummer for potential spots on the practice squad, according to The Athletic.
The Tennessee Titans released Levis on Sunday after deciding to move forward with quarterbacks Cam Ward and Mitchell Trubisky on their 53-man roster, ending his three-season tenure.
Across 2023 and 2024, Levis started 21 games, posting a 5-16 record while completing 61.0% of his passes for 3,899 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, before missing last year due to injury.
Plummer, the United Football League's reigning MVP, led the Orlando Storm with 2,188 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in 10 games, bringing proven production to the workout session.
New York currently features veteran Geno Smith as the starter, with rookie Cade Klubnik serving as the backup, and veteran Bailey Zappe already occupying a spot on the practice squad.
