Wildfires across Georgia and Florida have destroyed nearly 50 homes and are forcing evacuations
The 30-day order bars outdoor burning and price gouging as state and federal crews respond to fires that have destroyed more than 50 homes, officials said.

- Mobilizing the Georgia National Guard, the declaration secures federal Fire Management Assistance Grants and prohibits price gouging on essential goods and services for 30 days.
- With wildfire risk remaining high, the GFC has issued a 30-day burn ban prohibiting prescribed burns and yard debris burning. Officials urge residents to take conditions seriously to prevent further ignitions.
