- Under dry, windy conditions, crews and aircraft are engaged in firefighting, and 52 wildfires broke out nationwide in the past 24 hours, a spokesperson said.
- Residents of the town of Kryoneri received three evacuation SMS messages, Fire Service spokesman Vassilis Vathrakoyannis said, and four ambulances are treating at least five residents, mostly elderly with respiratory problems.
- Over the coming days, heat and wind are expected to continue fuelling fires while Greece has asked for six firefighting planes from the EU's Civil Protection Mechanism, Vathrakoyannis said.
