“I thought when we left the state tournament last year, after finishing with a school best, fourth-place finish, that we had the pieces in place to be one of the top teams in the state at the 6A level,” noted Smith, who is in his second year at the helm. “I was not entirely surprised at winning the region (area) tournament.”
