There is one detail that did not go unnoticed in the last stages of the Baku race: the absence of a virtual safety car after the Valtteri Bottas accident on Curve 15, one of the most dangerous stages in the entire circuit. That same incident, at any other time in the race
Valtteri Bottas explained that his crash at the end of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was caused by a malfunction in the AI-powered control system of his Cadillac. Bottas crashed into the barrier at Turn 15 late in the race. The wrecked car remained on the side of the track, but race direction responded with double yellow flags instead of deploying a safety car (SC) or virtual safety car (VSC).
