Why are Louisiana’s oil and gas production numbers declining?

Louisiana crude oil and natural gas production both saw year-over-year dips in January, according to newly released data from the Energy Information Administration. Crude oil production stood at 69,000 barrels per day in January, down 20.8% from January 2024.
