Whoopi Goldberg launches WhoopInk, a Blackstone Publishing imprint

- On Monday, Oscar-winning actor and co-host of The View Whoopi Goldberg launched WhoopInk, a partnership with Blackstone Publishing to bring "fresh, diverse new talent to the marketplace."
- Goldberg described the imprint as a platform for "influential voices," signaling a broader mission to expand representation in publishing after authoring more than a dozen books herself.
- Blackstone executive Rick Bleiweiss will publish the next installment in "Pignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives" mystery series, having previously signed Goldberg's memoir "Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me."
- Goldberg will be "intimately involved" with the imprint, overseeing cover design and promotion while releasing a follow-up to "Bits and Pieces."
- This venture joins Goldberg with other celebrities who have launched imprints in recent years, including Sarah Jessica Parker, John Legend, and Questlove, while Reese Witherspoon and Dua Lipa have formed book clubs.
