Whoopi Goldberg Apologizes After Calling House Speaker a ‘Moron’ on ‘The View’
Goldberg apologized and took back the remark during a fiery Hot Topic discussion on The View.
On Tuesday, moderator Whoopi Goldberg of The View returned from her Memorial Day break and called House Speaker Mike Johnson 'a moron' during Hot Topic discussions, then immediately apologized, saying 'I'm sorry that came out of my mouth, and I take it back.'
House Speaker Mike Johnson blocked a House vote on ending the Iran War despite the Senate achieving bipartisan Republican support last week for the first time, as the House sought to avoid embarrassing the president.
Senator Chris Murphy told The View that 'every single day that this war continues, the country gets weaker, Iran gets stronger, families are being devastated,' while Republicans and Democrats agreed 'This war is a disaster.'
Goldberg criticized Donald Trump's request for over $1 billion in taxpayer funding for an East Wing ballroom, saying she would pay for it only 'if he left,' and Murphy called the proposal 'the most corrupt thing he has done.'
Murphy urged the House to schedule the Iran War vote, stating 'we spent so much money on this war' and the nation must redirect resources to lower gas prices and 'bring our troops home' despite the deal's imperfect terms.
