Kyle Ann Morrow, the former Spa Hot Springs Motel employee accused of fatally shooting owner Gene Gudmundson, is also the author of three Montana-set romance novels that feature recurring themes of homicide, guns and violence. Investigators say they're reviewing all aspects of Morrow's background, including her writing, as they work to determine a motive. Meagher County Sheriff Jon Lopp said the novels are only one piece of the investigation, and authorities are also examining whether Morrow's previous employment at the motel played a role in the killing.
