NEW YORK — The recent use of white phosphorus munitions by Israeli forces in Lebanon highlights the need for new international rules on these weapons, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a report released Wednesday.
The non-governmental organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) has highlighted the need for new international rules on the use of white phosphorus munitions in its latest report, responding to 23 verified cases of its use by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon between March and May 2026.
