Incognito Max breaks Nurburgring record
- Max Verstappen, under the alias Franz Hermann, broke the Nürburgring Nordschleife GT3 lap record during an official test in a Ferrari 296 GT3 in early May 2025.
- The test aimed to help Emil Frey Racing prepare for a possible Nürburgring 24 Hours entry and allowed Verstappen to gain experience on the demanding 14-mile circuit.
- Verstappen chose a German-sounding fake name to avoid early fan attention, explaining people would otherwise arrive at 8 a.m. Tracking his real name on the list.
- The previous GT3 lap record was 7:49.578 held by Christian Krognes, and Verstappen confirmed he went faster though official timing has not been publicly released.
- Verstappen downplayed record attempts, saying he was learning the track and having fun, while expressing interest in possibly racing the Nürburgring 24 Hours in the future.
