Where in Moffat County

1917 Great Divide. Located about 25 miles NW of Craig. Established in 1916 as a homestead colony, Great Divide featured a post office, mercantile, and community building that served hundreds of incoming settlers. The community eventually dwindled as many residents were forced to abandon their claims due to the arid environment and a lack of necessary water for farming.
