If the journeys are much easier today, let us imagine what exploits they represented centuries ago. In 1725, while France was in full conquest of a part of North America, chiefs of Indian tribes made the trip to Hexagone to meet Louis XV. A unknown Franco-American history which is currently being told at the Palace of Versailles and which gave rise to a moving pilgrimage of their descendants. (Traditions and heritage).
The exhibition "1725, from the Amerindian allies to the court of Louis XV", presented at the Palace of Versailles until 3 May 2026, traces the reception by the King of France of a delegation from the Mississippi Valley. Unseen diplomatic relations which are evidenced by many objects, and which enhance the historical role of the Amerindian nations.
