RAF Aircraft to Soar over Berkshire TODAY for King's Birthday

The annual Trooping the Colour flypast will feature the Red Arrows and other RAF aircraft as part of King Charles III’s official birthday celebration.

  • On Saturday, June 13, the annual King's Birthday Flypast celebrated King Charles III, featuring the Red Arrows and other Royal Air Force aircraft traveling over Essex before reaching London.
  • With origins in 17th-century battlefield protocol, the ceremony features more than 1,000 soldiers and concludes Trooping the Colour. The event is held in June for better weather, despite the King's birthday being in November.
  • Acting as global ambassadors for the UK, the Red Arrows are the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team based at RAF Waddington. The team has carried out almost 5,000 displays in 57 countries.
  • Kelvedon Hatch Nuclear Bunker opened fields for parking, allowing spectators to watch the formation. Aircraft were visible over Essex locations like Colchester and Brentwood between 12.35pm and 1.25pm.
  • The formation traveled over Oxfordshire and parts of Berkshire, reaching Heathrow at 1.10pm. This route provided visibility across the region, including Slough and Beaconsfield, as part of the wider tribute.
